The NSCA Certification Commission is excited to announce an additional tool for exam hosts to use to schedule an exam in their area. Individuals who would like to have the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and/or NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) exam administered at a location of their choice may now apply to host an exam at www.nsca-cc.org/resources/host.html. This link allows hosts not only to request new exams but also to view the status of any pending requests and a history of their record.
In addition to the NSCA Certification Commission's regularly scheduled exam sites, the Exams on Request (EOR) program offers hosts the opportunity to schedule exams at a location more convenient for their candidates. After selecting an exam date, the NSCA Certification Commission and its testing service work together to arrange for the requested exam site. All exams are held at a local college or university facility. Once confirmed, the NSCA Certification Commission begins accepting registrations and assists the host with promotion of his/her exam.

The EOR program offers several benefits not only to the host but also to candidates registering for the exams. The convenience of a local exam site can potentially reduce travel costs for students, staff, employees, etc. who may be sitting for the exam. The increased opportunities to sit for an exam give fitness professionals more chances to demonstrate their competency in exercise technique, exercise science, program design and nutrition. These opportunities can translate into increased credibility of skills, quality of service and career advancement.
The NSCA Certification Commission, the certifying agency for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, offers two credentials for fitness professionals. The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certifications are considered the Credentials of Distinction in the strength training and conditioning and personal training professions. The NSCA Certification Commission is the only fitness-related organization to offer credentials nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) since 1993.
