Carol Michaels was chosen from more than 300 highly-qualified professionals to be the 2012 PFP Trainer of the Year.
Carol owns Recovery Fitness in Short Hills, New Jersey and offers her cancer recovery fitness programs to both individuals and small groups. She is now highly sought as a resource by oncologists and cancer specialists to refer their patients during cancer recovery. Carol has worked tirelessly to develop relationships with the medical community and to educate physicians, nurses, social workers and support groups on the important connection between exercise and successful recovery from cancer. She has worked directly with medical experts to develop her Recovery Fitness program designed specifically for cancer patients and is now a trusted leader for both doctors and patients. Her program has created a community of support for her clients, giving them a safe place to recover and more important, the hope that as successful recovery from cancer is possible.
Carol Michaels is a trailblazer in our industry and she will no doubt continue to make significant contributions to the world of fitness, but possibly more important, continue to be a source of hope and healing for her clients. We should all be proud to have a professional like Carol as a representative of our profession and can all learn from her story of success.
The PFP Trainer of the Year award seeks to recognize an individual in our industry who not only is a model of the fitness profession, but someone who seeks to have a direct and lasting impact on people's lives with integrity, professionalism and a genuine passion for helping others.
