The instructor liability program has been specifically designed to meet the insurance needs of US-based personal training, exercise, aerobic, yoga/pilates, sports or dance instructors who work on an independent contractor basis and directly supervise individual or group instruction of fitness, exercise, dance or sports activities. Lower rates introduced in 2007 for fitness and dance instructors are available through the new website.
Commercial general liability coverage protects instructors against liability claims for bodily injury and property damage arising out of their instruction activities. The instructor program offers three limit options and coverage can be purchased for a one-year or two-year period. There are no additional charges to obtain certificates of insurance for third parties.
Smaller health and fitness operations, such as exercise studios, circuit training facilities and health clubs offering limits services, may also apply for coverage online via the new website. Coverage available under this program includes commercial general liability protection for the business and its employees. Optional coverage offered includes Medical Payments for Participants and Inland Marine coverage to protect equipment and contents in the facility.
