The National Posture Institute (NPI) will be conducting a search to award one individual with the title of NPI's 2012 International Perfect Posture Person of the Year. The competition will run from February 1 to July 1, 2012. The winner will be awarded access to either NPI's Online Certified Posture Specialist Program or NPI's Public Posture Program, an NPI Posture Grid with Grommets, and highlights in NPI's social media.

Participants (Health/Fitness Professionals and All Consumers are eligible to Compete) are required to submit a 2-3 minute long video along with the answers of two posture-related questions. To see the official guidelines and other information, go to http://npionline.org/contest2012

"Conducting this Perfect Posture Competition is a great way to increase the awareness of posture and body alignment; In addition, the NPI has established the month of July as International Posture Awareness Month," said Ken Baldwin, Executive Director of the National Posture Institute.

Nick Rainey, the 2011 Perfect Posture Person of the Year winner, received NPI's Certified Posture Specialist program and is now an official NPI-CPS. After graduating from the program, Nick has more confidence in his ability to evaluate posture. Further, as the owner of Body4Change, a personal trainer business, he can advertise that he is certified to improve posture and stand out among other competitors.

"By conducting the Perfect Posture Competition and awarding NPI's featured posture programs/posture assessing tool, we look forward to educating more posture enthusiasts on the importance of posture and body alignment," said Baldwin. "And we hope they can apply the concepts at their workplace to benefit their clients/patients and themselves."
