The NSCA Certification Commission is excited to announce it has created a computer-based testing option for its nationally recognized Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT® ) certification exams. Computer-based testing allows the NSCA Certification Commission to continue to provide its candidates with the best service and access to the CSCS and NSCA-CPT exams. With the addition of computer-based testing, candidates will have the convenience of choosing the date and location of the exam. Computer-based testing will also allow candidates who have met all of the prerequisites to receive their test scores immediately.

Many fitness certification organizations choose only to provide their candidates with either paper/pencil exams or computer-based testing. The NSCA Certification Commission is one of only a few certification organizations to offer both formats. Providing this choice to the candidate allows for the most flexible and convenient certification process in the industry.

While the CSCS and NSCA-CPT exams will be offered in both the computer-based and paper/pencil format, the exam content and style will remain consistent. The computer-based format of the exams will incorporate customized video technology, allowing candidates to view the video components on the computer while adhering to the same conditions as paper/pencil candidates.

The NSCA Certification Commission expects computer-based testing to begin in early 2007. CSCS and NSCA-CPT candidates will be able to schedule exam appointments at more than 150 Assessment Center locations nationwide after they have submitted the necessary registration information.

The NSCA Certification Commission is pleased provide this enhanced service to its exam candidates. For future information regarding the addition of computer-based testing, call toll-free 888-746-2378, e-mail commission@nsca-cc.org or visit www.nsca-cc.org.
