The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) is teaming with Star Trac and HealthCorps to host Chain Reaction charity indoor cycling event, benefiting HealthCorps in its quest to combat childhood obesity. The three-day cycling event will be held at San Francisco’s Moscone Center’s North Hall during IHRSA’s 28th annual international convention and trade show March 17 through 19.

By combining efforts and resources, Star Trac and HealthCorps are setting the event fundraising goal at $1 million. The money raised will fund HealthCorps school-based programs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.

“IHRSA is extremely pleased to host the Star Trac and HealthCorps Chain Reaction event this year at our annual convention in San Francisco,” said Joe Moore, IHRSA President and CEO. “This great charity event is an exciting addition to our trade show, and serves an even greater purpose—aiding in the fitness industry’s fight against global obesity.”

Led by engaging Master Spinning instructors, the event attracts professional athletes, celebrities, Spinning enthusiasts, and individuals who share HealthCorps’ commitment to exercise every day. Chain Reaction exhibits indoor cycling as a fun and easy way to stay in shape. The inaugural event held earlier this year in New York’s Grand Central Station raised $250,000 for HealthCorps with over 1,800 participants.

“Since launching the Expect Different initiatives to encourage people to live a healthy, active lifestyle, Star Trac has been devoted to finding innovative ways to partner with like-minded brands and organizations such as HealthCorps and IHRSA to reduce obesity across the nation,” said Keith White, director of global branding for Star Trac. “By showcasing Chain Reaction at IHRSA, Star Trac can share its mission with the fitness industry and get other brands energized to join Expect Different.”

The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing health and fitness facilities, gyms, spas, sports clubs, and suppliers worldwide. The association’s membership includes over 9,100 clubs in 78 countries, along with over 730 industry suppliers.
