The Medical Fitness Association (MFA) is sponsoring the Fourth Annual Medical Fitness Week from April 21-27. The goal of this MFA initiative is to promote an increase in physical activity levels in all ages and to highlight the medical fitness difference. During this international event, medical fitness centers and communities are asked to offer programming that focuses on teaching families the skills they need to develop healthy lifestyle habits.

All participating organizations are asked to raise money through participation in the Walking Challenge, "70,000 Steps in 7 Days. Centers are asked to donate all monies raised to local programs and scholarship funds in the fight against obesity or other health related issues. Currently, medical fitness facilities provide health and wellness programs to over three million people. Medical fitness centers are in key positions to impact the healthcare of their communities and to partner with the medical community in creating models for success.

70,000 Steps in 7 Days Walking Challenge
The Walking Challenge encourages local communities to get up and move by striving for 70,000 steps in seven days. The challenge will involve wearing a pedometer and tracking how many steps a day a person is achieving. The community who achieves the most steps in the seven days will receive national recognition through press releases, the MFA website and the 2008 Annual Conference in San Antonio.

NuStep, makers of the NuStep TRS 4000 recumbent cross trainer, is this year's Elite Premier Sponsor. This will be the third year the company has sponsored Medical Fitness Week.

"NuStep is thrilled and honored to, once again, be the elite sponsor of Medical Fitness Week. It is our goal to be America's number one catalyst for active living and well-being, and teaming up with Medical Fitness Week is a great way for NuStep and all members of the Medical Fitness Association to assist people in transforming their lives by engaging in healthful physical activity," says Steve Sarns, NuStep VP Marketing and Sales.

All facilities must register with MFA to be a Walking Challenge participant. MFA Members and Nonmembers must be preregistered by Monday, April 14th to be eligible to win recognition. Register online at www.medicalfitness.org.
