The Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification has been approved for 1.5 (15 hours) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the Delaware Examining Board of Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers (the Delaware Board). The CSCS is the only strength and conditioning certification to be approved by a state division of professional regulation. This approval means that physical therapists and athletic trainers licensed by the Delaware Board can obtain the CSCS credential to fulfill their CEU requirements.
The CSCS credential identifies individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs for athletes in a team setting. Physical therapists and athletic trainers who obtain the CSCS credential have demonstrated that they have a solid scientific foundation in the exercise sciences and nutrition factors that affect health and sports performance at any level.
A physical therapist or athletic trainer can use the understanding of proper technique and applications of strength, plyometric and aerobic exercise that the CSCS certification establishes to develop a re-conditioning program to quickly return injured athletes to competition.
