The NSCA Certification Commission honored the 2007 recipients of its distinguished Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards at the Certification Reception on July 12 in conjunction with the NSCA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.  These awards were established to honor Exams on Request hosts for their efforts in promoting the NSCA, the NSCA Certification Commission, the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT®) credentials.

For only the second time in the history of the Exams on Request program, the NSCA Certification Commission presented a Gold Award.  The Gold Award honors an individual who has hosted 20 or more exams.  The recipient of the Gold Award was Trent Oneal, CSCS (Amarillo, Texas).  The Commission would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Oneal for all of his efforts to promote the CSCS and NSCA-CPT credential at Amarillo College.

The NSCA Certification Commission honors individuals who have hosted at least 10 exams with the Silver Award.  The Silver Award recipients were: Harry Davakos (Charleston, South Carolina), John Nel (South Africa) and David Pavlat, CSCS (Pella, Iowa).

The Bronze Award is given to individuals who have hosted at least three exams.  The Bronze Award recipients were:  Anthony Abbott, CSCS,*D; NSCA-CPT,*D (Boca Raton, Florida), Ryoji Abe, CSCS (Japan), Mark Baldis, CSCS (Fresno, California), Bob Chen, CSCS,*D; NSCA-CPT,*D (Mainland China), Ted Cornelius (Nashville, Tennessee), James Dawes, NSCA-CPT,*D (Edmond, Oklahoma/Colorado Springs, Colorado), Mike Greenwood, CSCS,*D (Waco, Texas), Laura Hall, CSCS, NSCA-CPT (Bowling Green, Kentucky), Dawn Hankins (Lebanon, Illinois), Debbie Krotish, CSCS (Rock Hill, South Carolina), Thomas LaFontaine, CSCS, NSCA-CPT (Columbia, Missouri), Martyn Matthews, CSCS (Manchester, United Kingdom), Vincent Metzo, CSCS (New York, New York), Tony Moreno, CSCS (Ypsilanti, Michigan), Yolanda Perry (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), Neil Willey, CSCS (Tucson, Arizona) and Chad Witmer, CSCS (East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania).

The Exams on Request program was established in 1993 for individuals wishing to have the CSCS or NSCA-CPT exam administered at a location close to them.  The NSCA Certification Commission and its testing service make the specific site arrangements and conduct the exam.  The NSCA Certification Commission also assists in promoting the exam through mailings and its Web site.
