The NSCA Certification Commission has created a unique opportunity for Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer® (NSCA-CPT® ) candidates to assess their strength training and conditioning and personal training knowledge. Through the development of a set of online self-assessments, the NSCA Certification Commission continues to provide its exam candidates with useful and effective tools to prepare them for the CSCS and/or NSCA-CPT exam(s).

The online self-assessments were designed to supplement the Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning Symposium workbook and audio CDs and the Essentials of Personal Training Symposium workbook and audio CDs. In addition to being available online, the self-assessments are included on the Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning Multimedia Symposium CDs and the Essentials of Personal Training Multimedia Symposium CDs. The NSCA Certification Commission recommends that candidates preparing for the CSCS or NSCA-CPT exams use the online self-assessments as an additional resource to existing preparation materials.

The Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning Symposium Self-Assessments and Essentials of Personal Training Symposium Self-Assessments are designed to reflect the major content areas of the CSCS and NSCA-CPT exams. Candidates can use the online self-assessments to assist them as they work to acquire a thorough understanding of the knowledge required to design and implement safe and effective training programs. Through the use of both immediate and historical score reporting, candidates can gauge their competency in the major content areas of the CSCS and/or NSCA-CPT exam(s). Candidates are allowed unlimited access to the self-assessments with a 30-day license. The self-assessments can be used multiple times to increase the likelihood that candidates understand the information needed to successfully obtain the CSCS or NSCA-CPT credential.
