Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 29, 2011

In a continued effort to minimize its carbon footprint the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF.org) is pleased to announce the manufacturing process of all of its Personal Trainer certification educational resources are now chain-of-custody certified (COC) with the Forest Stewardship CouncilTM (FSCTM), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), and the Programme for Endorsement of Forest CertificationTM (PEFCTM). The NCSF initiated this program over a year ago with the intent to fully reflect global conservation practices while still providing a cost effective product for consumers.

The COC certification ensures that products made from trees go from a certified, well-managed forest to a certified paper manufacturer, merchant or printer. A certified COC label assures consumers that the forestry practices employed to make the product are environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable. The manufacturing process is also Eco Green Certified. This certification process is performed by an independent auditor not affiliated with the FSC, SFI or PEFC to ensure the process is credible. Certified paper is both recycled paper and virgin pulp harvested from certified forests. Recycled paper alone is not certified paper. Only certified papers are truly sustainable and come from new forests. By using certified paper, the NCSF is supporting the worldwide effort to help our environment.

“These distinguished certifications illustrate our commitment to sensible environmental stewardship,” states Paul Garbarino, Director of Operations with the organization. “Many businesses deliver social benefit as part of their work. At the NCSF, it is at the heart of everything we do. That is why we continue to expand our role in the worldwide effort to protect the environment.” The NCSF is proud to lead the industry in addressing environmental concerns and encourages others to play an active role in global responsibility.
